It is finally December!!! This is my absolute favourite month of the year. I am really looking forward to all of the Christmas decorations and all of the amazing things to do at this time of year. We had the perfect weekend to start off the month. We went Christmas shopping on Saturday and bought the last few tree decorations.
We put our Christmas tree up on Sunday. I have been waiting for this day since we bought our first decoration in October!
This will be a really special Christmas for us as it is our first one in our new home. I let Ryan put the tree up with the lights and then I came along to help decorate and make it pretty.
It was so lovely to look at all of the decorations we bought and see everything coming together. I was really pleased with our finished tree and I loved putting the star on top.
I spent the afternoon baking Christmas sugar biscuits.
For the biscuits you will need –
250g butter
140g icing sugar
370g plain flour
1 egg yolk
For the icing you will need –
230g icing sugar
1 egg white
Water
First of all pre-heat the oven to 190oC. Mix together the butter, sugar and the egg yolk. Once this is creamed together add the flour and start mixing with using your hands until it forms a dough. Roll the dough out on to a floured surface and cut out the biscuits with the cutters. (I got mine from Tkmaxx for £3.99). Place the biscuits onto a lined tray and bake in the oven for 10 minutes.
For the icing mix together the icing sugar and the egg white, then add water a bit at a time until it is the right consistency. Then enjoy decorating and add lots of sprinkles.
This really was a perfect start to the Christmas season .

Your tree is so beautiful! And the biscuits look so yummy. I made some similar at the weekend, I haven’t got round to icing them yet (I don’t think there will be any left by the time I get there!)

Seriously impressed with your sugar cookie icing skills, girl! Well done! The recipe looks super easy too, so I’ll definitely have to try it out – thanks for making it so straightforward! Your tree is so well decorated too, it looks like one you’d see in Debenhams!! Thanks for sharing!
